New models - Mitsubishi - ExpressMitsu Express range revisedMitsubishi revises its 2006 Express range, which starts at the same $23,490 price10 Apr 2006 MITSUBISHI Australia has revised its SJ Express van range, deleting the medium-wheelbase "walk thru" model variant and, for the remainder of the range, substituting the 2.0-litre petrol engine for a detuned version of the walk-through model’s 2.4-litre engine. In order to meet the latest emissions requirements, the 2.4-litre 16-valve SOHC four-cylinder engine now produces 84kW of power – down a substantial 13kW – at 5000rpm and 188Nm of torque – down 4Nm – at 3000rpm. It remains compatible for LPG conversion and is standard fitment on short-wheelbase blind and window model variants and the medium-wheelbase blind van. The standard transmission is a five-speed manual (now with a taller final drive ratio: 4.625 v 4.875), with the automatic option disappearing with SWB walk-thru. The other noteworthy mechanical change is a larger radiator capacity. Pricing continues to start from $23,490 for the SWB blind van, however, the SWB window and MWB blind vans increase $500 to now start from $27,490.
