New models - Porsche - BoxsterMore power for BoxsterPorsche blesses its Boxster with more powerful, more frugal engines from the Cayman30 Nov 2006 By TERRY MARTIN PORSCHE Cars Australia has introduced its 2007 Boxster roadster, which in both standard and S form has benefited from an increase in power and torque to its respective mid-mounted flat-six engine. Priced from $108,800, the baseline 2.7-litre Boxster now has VarioCam Plus valve management, which adds 4kW (to 180kW) and 3Nm (to 273Nm) – and drops its (manual) fuel consumption rating to 9.3L/100km (down 0.3L). The $134,600 Boxster S now has a 3.4-litre engine (up from 3.2), which develops 217kW (up 11kW) and 340Nm (up 20Nm) and improves its 0-100km/h acceleration, which is now down to 5.4 seconds.
