News - Mercedes-Benz - C-Class - C63 AMG sedanWorld record drift for Mercedes-Benz C63 AMGDrifter takes Mercedes C63 AMG into the record books in Surrey21 Jun 2011 A PROFESSIONAL driver has broken the world record for longest car drift at the Mercedes-Benz World circuit in Surrey, England, achieving a non-stop powerslide of 2308 metres. Mauro Calo, a member of the Mercedes-Benz Silver Arrows display team, completed almost eight laps of the 360-degree handling circuit in a C63 AMG sedan. The tyre-shredding performance from the distinguished drifter smashed the existing world record by 394 metres. Andrew Mallery, Mercedes-Benz Cars commercial operations director commented: “When Mauro approached us to hold his record breaking attempt on the circuit at Mercedes-Benz World we were happy to offer him the support. “He has been a valuable member of the driving experience team for several years and is a respected driver in the industry, so there was no doubt he would achieve his aim”.
