XF Fairmont Ghia

Third facelift of XD arrived with an all-new front-end styling, revised tail-lights and a complete cabin makeover.

New seats, a colour-coded electronic dash and more electronics debuted. The base 103kW/316Nm 4.1L I6 employed improved engine efficiency, although mandatory unleaded fuel (ULP) changes dropped its power output to 97.5kW from January '86.

These are identified by side indicators found in the front bumpers. A rear seat boot hatch and steering wheel rake adjustment were introduced. The ESP model was discontinued.

New standard features: cruise control, central locking, trip meter.

Engine options: 120kW/333Nm 4.1L EFI I6 (until Jan '86), 121kW/325Nm 4.1L ULP I6 (after Jan '86).
