Peugeot 3008

3008 II

1 Aug 2017

Peugeot relaunched in Australia under its new distributor, Inchcape Australasia, in mid 2017 and the first model to launch under the new deal was the re-invented 3008 crossover.

The 3008 went from being an odd-ball MPV-style crossover to a fully fledged mid-size SUV, and it was underpinned by the EMP2 platform that also formed the basis of the 308 small car and Citroen C4 Picasso, among others.

Four model grades were offered from launch, with the Active, Allure and GT Line using a Euro 6 121kW/240Nm 1.6-litre turbo four-cylinder petrol unit, while the flagship GT was powered by a 133kW/400Nm four-cylinder turbo-diesel unit.

Standard equipment from Active up included an 8.0-inch capacitive touchscreen, the ‘i-Cockpit’ 12.3-inch digital instrument panel, front and rear parking sensors, a 180-degree reversing camera, electric park brake, dual-zone climate control, an auto-dimming rearview mirror and cruise control with a speed limiter.

The 3008 competed with the likes of the Volkswagen Tiguan and Mazda CX-5.
