SV22 Camry

A minor facelift inside and out, more refinement, a reshuffled model range, revised engines, improved steering, suspension and headlights, and extra features identify the SV22 series, which also spawned the nearly identical Holden JK Apollo version.

The imported 1.8L engine gave way to an 82kW carburettor version of the local 2.0L engine (called 3S-FC) in the SE, Executive and CS, while the CS/X and Ultima sedan continued with the 88kW 2.0L EFI version.

A Spirit limited edition appeared in February ’91.

Three months later, a redesigned grille and new badges arrived, along with the standard fitment of power steering and the 2.0L EFI engine.

The CSi replaced the CS, while the value-added CSi Limited and Olympic Spirit models kept the old stager selling strongly from September ‘92.
