78 Series LandCruiser Series II

The 78 Series Series II added a 122kW/380Nm 4.2-litre HDJ79R turbo-diesel to its now nine-strong range, as well as recalibrated front suspension for better steering response, new springs and anti-roll bar for turbo-diesel variants (which have a GVM of 3300kg), fresh exterior colours and the addition of higher-grade RV Cab/Chassis and RV Troopcarrier models.

The latter add cloth-trimmed bucket seats, carpet, keyless entry, power front windows, a CD player, side steps and extra chrome trim. Some also gained a wheel and tyre upgrade.
