Volkswagen GolfGolf 7.51 Jul 2017 Volkswagen introduced a mid-life refresh for its top-selling Golf hatch and wagon range in mid-2017, dubbing it the ‘7.5’. Visual changes were difficult to pick – new headlight design and LED tail-lights, as well as revised front and rear bumpers – while the cabin benefited from new cloth trim for some variants and a more hi-tech 8.0-inch capacitive-touch infotainment screen as standard. It did get more standard gear over the old model, including an upgrade to safety equipment such as autonomous emergency braking (AEB) across the range. VW ditched the 92kW turbo-petrol engine in the base variant in favour of a 110kW unit for all non-performance petrol models. It also expanded the high-riding Alltrack range from one variant to three, including the new base 132TSI, a 132TSI Premium and flagship 135TDI . The Golf GTI and R range expanded to include a permanent R wagon in August 2017. Read moreWhen it was new |
