In 2018, Aston Martin developed its first all-new Vantage model since the nameplate was launched in 2005, with the V8-only sportscar aimed to tackle the likes of the Porsche 911 Carrera 4 GTS, the Mercedes-AMG GT S and the Jaguar F-Type SVR.

While the previous generation Vantage was offered with both V8 and V12 powertrain options, this model was exclusively powered by a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8.

According to Aston Martin, the Mercedes-AMG-sourced engine was capable of producing 375kW of power and 685Nm of torque; a 54kW/195Nm improvement over its predecessor.

An eight-speed ZF automatic sent power to the rear wheels with the aid of an electronic rear differential, helping the Vantage to complete the zero to 100km/h sprint in 3.6 seconds, on the way to a top speed of 314km/h.

Handling was aided by features such as dynamic torque vectoring, dynamic stability control, adaptive damping and perfect 50:50 weight distribution.
