The "Alpha" powerplant uses twin camshafts and 16 valves to produce more power and torque, for fewer rpm. Changes include new intake camshaft profiles, larger intake valves, improved flow inlet and exhaust ports, altered ignition timing, a larger air intake with a longer inlet manifold, and work on reducing internal friction and mass.
