Just weeks after GoAuto revealed that GM Holden would build its own Monaro rather than rework the Camaro, and that Australian engineers had been working on the rear-drive American sportscar, GM chairman and chief executive Rick Wagoner last week confirmed that its production is scheduled to commence late in 2008. It will be based on the same platform as the VE Commodore, and should look similar to the Camaro concept car unveiled at the Detroit auto show in January.
