Ford Everest Tremor announced for Oz

HOT on the tail of the freshly announced Ranger Tremor comes news that Ford Australia will launch an Everest accompaniment as a full-time member of the line-up before the end of the year.

Priced from $76,590 the Ford Everest Tremor will offer improved off-road capability over its derivative Sport variant, thanks in part to upgraded suspension and tyres.

With V6 turbo-diesel power and 3500kg towing the Tremor variant further gains Rock Crawl Drive mode technology, a toughened look, Bilstein position-sensitive dampers, revised springs (adding 26mm of addition ground clearance) and General Grabber AT3 tyres.

The model is characterised by the availability of a unique Command Grey paint hue, distinctive honeycomb grille design with LED auxiliary lights, a steel bash plate, heavy-duty side steps, and signature Tremor badging.

The Ford Everest Tremor also features a premium interior with embossed leather accented upholstery, ebony-coloured interior accents and all-weather floor mats. All other equipment, safety and technology offerings are as per the Everest Sport.

Optionally, the Tremor will offer customers Ford’s Rough Terrain pack featuring ARB accessories ($3500), a Touring Pack ($2500), Premium Seat Pack ($1100), Towing Pack ($1900), and Premium Paint ($700).

“The Everest Tremor answers the call from passionate adventurers who demand even more capability and ruggedness from their SUVs,” said Ford Australia marketing director Ambrose Henderson.

“With its unique combination of off-road effectiveness, towing capacity, and premium features, the Everest Tremor is ready to tackle any adventure, on or off Australia’s various terrains.”

Mr Henderson said further details on the Everest Tremor will be announced closer to the variant’s arrival in late 2024 or early 2025 and that the model will “take the same off-road capability that we have in the Ranger Tremor and applies it to the Everest”.

“Australians have really taken to the Everest – it’s number one in its segment year to date,” he continued.

“As we continue to work with customers and understand the market, we have found that there is a real need to have an SUV from the showroom floor that is capable of more challenging driving.

“That’s exactly what the Tremor does, and we think it will address a really important need in the market.”

Unlike the Ranger Tremor, which is a limited-edition variant within the range, the Everest Tremor will become a full-time offering, sitting above the Sport V6 AWD in the local Everest portfolio.

“It will be an ongoing model for different reasons. The target (market) is a bit different,” clarified Mr Henderson.

“Everest customers and Ranger customers are a little bit different, and in the Everest line-up you don’t yet have something that is more biased towards off-road (driving) whereas Ranger already has some of those models available.

“It’s a slightly different strategy, but what ‘Tremor’ means on both is the same in terms of off-road capability.”
