Big plans for Skoda in 2025

ALMOST every single model in the Skoda showroom will be revamped and a host of new products will be added in the next 18 months, as the Czech brand ramps up to try and readdress the market with more relevant models.

However, as has been the case for the Czech brand in recent years, some new models have been delayed by months, with the company’s first full EV models pushed back yet again, along with two of its all-new larger models, the Kodiaq SUV and Superb sedan and wagon.

Having already launched the updated Kamiq small SUV, Skoda will soon also add the new base model Fabia Select (September) and the facelifted Scala small hatch as well (also in September), before turning its attention to some larger models in the line-up.

The Octavia Select base models will arrive in November this year, ahead of Sportline and RS grades hitting our shores in Q2 2025, while the brand will finally add its first electric models in December this year in the form of the Enyaq and Enyaq RS models.

2025 holds plenty of cards in its hand, too, with the brand confirming an expected launch timing of February for the Skoda Kodiaq seven-seat SUV, while the Superb sedan and wagon are due here a few months later in May 2025.

Towards the end of 2025, Skoda will add a new compact electric SUV, the Elroq – which is essentially an electric take on the Karoq-size SUV – and there’ll also be a smaller model known as Epiq “beyond 2025”, and an electric seven-seat SUV and new electric station wagon, too. But those are likely due in 2027 or later.

All the current timings are subject to change, as has been the situation for a while for Skoda in Australia. Indeed, just a few months ago GoAuto reported that the Fabia and Scala were due in July (now September), while the electric models have been pushed back yet again.

We’d previously reported the brand as confirming them for an October 2024 arrival, not December.

Skoda Australia product and marketing manager Kieran Merrigan said he “can’t wait” to finally launch the brand’s EV range, and acknowledged there is some frustration about the delayed roll-out of the Enyaq models.

“We’re super excited about it and we’ve been talking about it for way too long,” he said.
