Mercedes-Benz welcomed its refreshed SL-Class range in September 2016, coinciding with the local decision to axe the V12-powered AMG SL 65 flag bearer that produced 463kW/1000Nm.
The three-tier line-up benefited from a price cut, redesigned front fascia, new tail-lights and bumpers, as well as upgraded engines for two variants.
Safety levels were boosted thanks to the addition of a 'Driver Assistant Package Plus' which included active cruise control with steering assist, autonomous emergency braking, rear cross-traffic alert, lane keeping assistant and blind-spot monitoring.
An active body control (ABC) sports suspension was optionally available on the SL400/500, which offering a smoother ride by lightening the load on the adaptive damping system.
