New models - JAC - T9JAC Motors T9 ute details firm for OzKey equipment highlights announced for sub-$50K Chinese-made JAC Motors T98 Aug 2024 By MATT BROGAN JAC Motors Australia has announced that customer test drives of its incoming T9 utility will begin from this month (August), the Chinese importer outlining key equipment highlights of the model it says will be priced from less than $50,000.
With availability across over 50 dealerships nationwide, the JAC Motors T9 is said to be generating significant interest with customers already placing deposits on the dual-cab, four-wheel drive model.
JAC Motors says the T9 will arrive as standard with inclusions such as a sports bar and rock-rail side steps, a spray-on protective tub liner, tailgate lock, LED lighting, rear differential lock and 18-inch titanium-finished alloy wheels (including matching spare).
Moving inside, the T9 offers a 10.4-inch infotainment array, leather-accented upholstery, front seat heating, USB-A, USB-C and wireless device charging, a 220-volt power outlet in the rear, and rear-seat air vents.
JAC Motors Australia says the ute will be available from under $50K drive-away and will include a seven-year/unlimited-kilometre warranty as part of the deal. GoAuto understands the two-grade line-up will be priced from $42,662 and $45,630 plus on-road costs respectively.
“We are committed to Australian JAC owners,” said JAC Motors Australia director of sales and distribution Danny Lenartic.
“We have invested a considerable amount in developing both our product and our aftersales service. Our goal is to ensure that choosing a JAC remains a decision our customers feel good about long after their purchase.”
GoAuto understands the T9 will be offered in two grades: Oasis and Haven. Both feature a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder diesel engine developing 120kW of power at 3600rpm and 410Nm of torque between 1500-2500rpm.
Combined cycle fuel consumption is listed at 7.6 litres per 100km and CO2 emissions at 202 grams per kilometre.
Both grades are equipped with an eight-speed automatic transmission as standard and four-wheel disc brakes. Suspension duties fall to a double wishbone front and leaf rear.
The T9 measures 5330mm in length, 1965mm in width, 1920mm in height, and rides on a 3110mm wheelbase. It offers a turning circle of 12.4m and ground clearance of 210mm. Kerb weight is listed at 2055kg and braked towing capacity 3000kg.
