New models - Kia - Stinger - Night SkyKia ups Stinger ante with Night Sky special editionKia’s new Stinger Night Sky brings a little extra luxury – and more noise26 Feb 2020 KIA Australia has launched a new special edition Stinger Night Sky to bridge the $4000 price gap between the standard GT and flagship GT Carbon Edition.
Priced at $63,500 plus on-road costs, the Stinger Night Sky commands a $2710 premium over its donor car, which scores buyers an all-new light grey Nappa leather interior and a louder bimodal exhaust as standard.
Three exclusive colours will be offered on the Night Sky, comprising of ‘Micro Blue, Deep Chroma Blue and Aurora Black Pearl.
Under the bonnet lies the same twin-turbo 3.3-litre V6 petrol engine as other GT variants, delivering identical 272kW/510Nm outputs to the rear wheels via an eight-speed torque converter automatic transmission.
The standard equipment list also reflects that of a regular GT, which includes wireless phone charging, interior mood lighting, alloy sports pedals, keyless entry, a colour head-up display, digital speed readout and trip computer.
Similarly there are power adjustable front seats with memory function for the driver, a 15-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, heated flat bottomed sports steering wheel, adaptive LED headlights and adaptive cruise control.
The regular GT’s active safety suite is also carried over, which includes driver attention alert, rear cross traffic alert, blind spot monitoring, lane keep assist, autonomous emergency braking, a 360-degree camera and reversing camera with guidance lines.
Last year the Stinger was the second best-selling vehicle in Australia’s sub-$70,000 large car segment, with 1773 sales earning it a 20.5 per cent share.
In January of this year, 105 units were sold compared with the Holden Commodore’s 268, still accounting for more than 22 per cent of the segment market share but down 19.2 per cent year-on-year.
