Skoda improves value of Karoq range

SKODA Australia has revamped its Karoq mid-sized SUV line-up offering what it says is up to $5000 worth of additional value.

Available from as little as $40,990 drive-away, the updated Karoq range now begins with the Select grade replacing the entry-grade ‘Karoq’ within the local range; and adding metallic paint and advanced driver fatigue detection as standard.

The features are offered alongside 18-inch alloy wheels, adaptive cruise control, AEB with pedestrian and cyclist detection, front and rear parking sensors, lane assist, LED external lighting, rear cross-traffic alert, and tyre pressure monitoring.

Additional highlights include an auto-dimming rear-view mirror, auto headlights and wipers, dual-zone climate control, keyless entry and ignition, a leather-trimmed steering wheel, an 8.25-inch digital instrument display, and 8.0-inch infotainment array with wireless Apple Car Play and Android Auto connectivity.

The Karoq range offers an additional two-wheel drive Sportline which joins the all-wheel drive model in offering generous levels of standard equipment.

Highlights include 19-inch Anthracite alloy wheels, front spoiler, rear diffuser, Matrix LED headlights, black window framing, adaptive high beam, LED interior lighting, heated front and rear (outboard) seats, paddle shifters, aluminium pedals, and a heated steering wheel.

Further technology and equipment offerings include traffic jam assist, adaptive lane guidance and emergency assist, full keyless entry, rear privacy glass, heat insulating windscreen, powered tailgate with handsfree access, larger 10.25-inch instrument panel, DAB+ digital radio reception, wireless device charging pad and a rear-view mirror mounted USB-C port for easy dashcam installation.

The Skoda Karoq Spotline 4x2 shares the Select variant’s 110kW/250Nm1.4-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine and eight-speed automatic transmission combination. The flagship Karoq Sportline 4x4 ups the ante with a 140kW/320Nm 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine and seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.

The range-topping Karoq variant now includes previously optional equipment as standard, such as adaptive damping, progressive steering, 9.2-inch infotainment array with native sat nav and 10-speaker Canton audio system, hill descent control, heated windshield washer, park assist and 360-degree camera system.

A $4000 Signature Pack adds leather-appointed upholstery and power adjustable front seats with memory functionality. A $1900 panoramic sunroof is also available.

“Skoda is introducing the Karoq Select as a signpost for maximum value, while the new Karoq Sportline4x2 combines Australian customer preference for sports model grades with over $5000 of addition value compared with the Karoq Style it replaces,” said Skoda Australia product manager Glenn Reid.

“The performance oriented Karoq Sportline 4x4 benefits from $1900 of additional value, while every Skoda medium SUV grade can be driven away with a high level of finance flexibility and assurance thanks to Skoda Choice with guaranteed future value.”

Every Skoda passenger vehicle is available with a seven-year/unlimited-kilometre warranty and pre-paid service plans. For the Karoq, these are priced at $2450 for five years (or 75,000km) and $2750 for seven years (or 105,000km).
