Prominent smash repairer Wayne Phipps bows out after more than 45 years in business

LONGSTANDING Western Australian smash repair owner Wayne Phipps has retired after more than 45 years of operating his own business.

 

His business, Wayne Phipps Smash Repairs, was started in 1977 as a four-man operation and now employs 23 people. It is regarded as one of Australia’s best body shops.

 

The business, which was sold to become part of Car Craft 18 months ago, will be run by Ian Janssen, whom Mr Phipps described as “my most trusted and loyal employee for the past 25 years”.
