According to the Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries (FCAI), there are two new-vehicle sales categories for buses in Australia.

The Toyota Hiace and Ford Transit bus populate the Light Bus category, and come under the Light Commercial Vehicle classification.

The former bus outsells the latter bus in Australia by a ratio of more than 10 to one.

Then there is the Heavy Commercial Vehicle classification for larger Buses.

This segment, known as Heavy Buses, has three main players - the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Bus, Toyota Coaster Bus and Mitsubishi Rosa Bus. The Rosa is the most popular bus in this category at the time of writing.
