Trucks vehiclesTop^Trucks 2.5-3.5 GVMThe Federal Chambers of Automotive Industries (FCAI) splits the truck segment into two categories - Light Commercial trucks and Heavy Commercial Trucks. Light Commercial trucks refers to vehicles that are of between 2500 - 3500kg GVM - or Gross Vehicle Mass. According to the FCAI, these trucks are "Vehicles designed principally for commercial but may include designs intended for non-commercial applications." Examples of Trucks 2.5-3.5 GVM include the Ford Transit C/C (Cab Chassis), Kia K2700, Kia K2900, and Volkswagen Transporter C/C. Then there are the Heavy Commercial Trucks. The FCAI states that these are "Vehicles designed for exclusive heavy commercial application." They are divided into four categories - Truck 3501 - 7500kg GVM, Truck 7501 - 15,500kg GVM, Truck 15,001kg & over GVM, and Buses 3501kg and over GVM. In the Truck 3501 - 7500kg GVM category are trucks such as the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, Isuzu N-Series, Mitsubishi Canter and Hino 3.5t. In the Truck 7501 - 15,500kg GVM, models include the Isuzu F-Series 7.5t, Hino 7.5t, and Mitsubishi Fighter 7.5t. In the Truck 15,001kg & over GVM, we have examples from Isuzu, Kenworth, Mack and Western Star. Buses in the 3501kg and over GVM class include the Toyota Coaster, Mitsubishi Rosa and Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Bus. |
