Now in its third generation, the B2 series 80 reflected its successful 100 sibling’s stylish profile and family face, and benefited from a far stronger body and more refined engineering.
Local importer LNC took on the burgeoning BMW 318i and Volvo 244 series with the 80 5+5, a unique hybrid of the front-wheel drive B2 80 four-door sedan and the overseas-only 90’s 85kW 2.0L five-cylinder engine/five-speed manual gearbox combo (although a three-speed auto was also available, but it wasn’t called 5+3).
Spacious, stylish and swift, the 5+5 helped establish Audi locally.
