Road TestCar reviews - Audi - Q5 - SQ5Audi modelsOverviewAudi's SQ5 has got some hustle, and at $90k is actually a bit of a steal19 Jul 2013 AUDI is no stranger to strapping a couple of turbochargers onto a petrol engine to extract a bit more mumbo - but a diesel? More than a decade ago, a twin-blower 2.7-litre V6 petrol powered Audi’s flagship RS4 Avant, producing what was considered at the time a pretty quick wagon with a decent serve of 280kW of power and 440Nm of torque. Cast through the modern-day range sporting the special silver wing mirrors, and the twin-turbo theme carries through the petrol V8 range on anything but the S6 and S7 models, and the more performance-honed RS4 and RS5 models. Now Audi has its first twin-turbo diesel engine, too, and the German luxury brand chosen the mid-sized Q5 soft-roader as its first recipient. The move has given the Q5 – Audi’s best-selling model – so much of a performance lift, it too now has to wear an “S” in front of its name. It’s a blast, and a well-equipped one that though, though unfortunately it’s now too late to take advantage of an even sharper introductory offer. Click here for the full review...
