Road TestCar reviews - FPV - GT - sedanFPV modelsOverviewFord builds a muscle-car for the masses, fit enough to wear the coveted GT badge20 May 2004 THE stripes and gaudy body shades are optional, which means it’s not always easy to pick Ford’s 21st century version of the legendary GT Falcon. But beneath those quite tasteful panels lurks the first real high performance sedan to wear the local blue oval since the early 1970s. The Ford Performance Vehicles (FPV) GT is in fact faster by any measure than the mystical GTHO, yet is quite amazingly refined, offering a smooth ride and sharp handling without the sometimes cantankerous steering of other local supercars. Yes, it’s less primitive than its forebears, yet it still offers an experience that is stirring for the driver, as well as comfortable for passengers. But it empties the 68-litre fuel tank with frightening speed.
