Super TestCar reviews - Kia - Spectra - LS 5-dr hatchKia modelsSafety5 Sep 2001 NOTABLE lapses on the safety front with the Spectra include the use of a lap seatbelt rather than a three-point belt in the centre-rear position and the unavailability of either a front passenger airbag or an anti-lock braking system. A driver's airbag is fitted standard and the front seatbelts now have pretensioners in addition to webbing clamps. Rear disc brakes are not available, though Kia claims there is a 25 per cent increase in drum brake pad area for improved stopping power. The latest upgrade is also claimed to have brought body strengthening measures and structural improvements designed to spread accident loads and therefore reduce forces on the occupants. Did you know?A four-sensor four-channel anti-lock braking system is available in overseas markets, however, the Australian distributor has elected not to offer such a feature hereAll car reviewsAlfa Romeo Abarth Alpine Alpina Audi Aston Martin BMW Bentley Chevrolet Chery Citroen Chrysler Dodge Cupra Ferrari DS Ford Fiat FPV Foton GWM Great Wall Holden Haval HSV Honda Hyundai Hummer Isuzu Infiniti Jeep Jaguar Lamborghini Kia LDV Land Rover Lotus Lexus Maserati Mahindra McLaren Mazda Mercedes-Benz Mercedes-AMG Mini MG Nissan Mitsubishi Peugeot Opel Proton Porsche Renault Ram Rover Rolls-Royce Skoda Saab SsangYong Smart Suzuki Subaru Toyota Tesla Volvo Volkswagen |
