Super TestCar reviews - Nissan - Bluebird - LX 4-dr sedanNissan modelsUsed Rivals20 Jun 2003 SUBARU LIBERTY 4D SEDAN (1989-1998) THE Liberty earned a car of the year award in 1994 with a combination of good ride and handling, high quality and occupant protection. The Liberty is not far behind the Bluebird in equipment and performance terms and the 2.2-litre engine is noted for its flexibility and economy. MAZDA 626 4D SEDAN (1994-1997) THE Mazda 626 is also a car of the year award winner. It had minor styling changes and gained a driver's airbag in 1994 and was rebadged as the SDX. The 2.0-litre engine, with 85kW, is not as powerful as that of the Bluebird but is more economical. MITSUBISHI GALANT 5D HATCHBACK (1993-1995) THE good looking Galant doubles as a family car or a sports hatch. The driver appeal stems from the multi-link suspension which makes the Galant a competent handler with equipment competitive with the Bluebird. The SE uses a 2.0-litre, 16-valve, four-cylinder engine with 90kW. TOYOTA CAMRY 4D SEDAN (1994-1995) THE Vienta is an excellent choice of transport for the family with a combination of near full-size interior space, good quality and finish. The 3.0-litre, multi-valve V6 has plenty of power (139kW) which puts performance only just behind the Bluebird. Points against the Vienta are bland styling and no manual transmission option.
