Super TestCar reviews - Subaru - Liberty - B4 sedanSubaru modelsElectronic System15 Apr 2002 THE B4 employs a viscous coupling limited slip centre differential (LSD) to transmit engine power to all four wheels. In normal conditions this system operates with a 50/50 torque split between the front and rear axles, but the viscous LSD automatically adjusts the torque distribution dependent on load distribution and tyre grip - such as during unstable driving conditions, like on slippery surfaces or under hard acceleration. The B4 also uses an LSD on the rear axle to enable the transfer of power between the rear wheels depending on available traction. Did you know? The B4's muffler is electronically controlled to reduce exhaust flow resistance at mid and high speeds, while maintaining noise damping ability at low speedsAll car reviewsAlfa Romeo Abarth Alpine Alpina Audi Aston Martin BMW Bentley Chevrolet Chery Citroen Chrysler Dodge Cupra Ferrari DS Ford Fiat FPV Foton GWM Great Wall Holden Haval HSV Honda Hyundai Hummer Isuzu Infiniti Jeep Jaguar Lamborghini Kia LDV Land Rover Lotus Lexus Maserati Mahindra McLaren Mazda Mercedes-Benz Mercedes-AMG Mini MG Nissan Mitsubishi Peugeot Opel Proton Porsche Renault Ram Rover Rolls-Royce Skoda Saab SsangYong Smart Suzuki Subaru Toyota Tesla Volvo Volkswagen |
