It is a favourite for good reason among off-road adventure and camping enthusiasts who want to be able to travel places that other cars can’t go. In October last year the 70 Series range of single cab, dual cab, wagon and Troopcarrier bodystyles received an update that added engine tweaks, revised gear ratios, extra specification for all and upgraded safety features for the fleet-favourite single cab version. In a world of luxury SUVs it would be easy to write off the LandCruiser 70 as a noisy, unrefined, poorly-equipped dinosaur, but taking it out of the city revealed the true ability of the of the LandCruiser Troopcarrier – an ability unmatched by almost any other four-wheel-drive.
