Super TestCar reviews - Toyota - Prius - i-Tech 5-dr hatchToyota modelsResearch Toyota Suspension9 Jul 2004 The suspension is all-coil, with anti-dive MacPherson struts at the front and a redesigned anti-lift torsion beam arrangement at the back. The U-shaped rear beam contains a built-in stabiliser bar and the gas-filled dampers use what Toyota calls "multi-leaf linear control" to control body lean when cornering yet still absorbing road shock. The rear suspension controls toe (the amount by which the wheel varies from a straight-ahead position) via specially designed bushes. Despite this, and all of Prius' ancilliary equipment, the rear load space retails a usefully flat floor. Did you know? The amount of lead and chloride in the Prius has been reduced, with one tenth the lead content of the original Prius and one tenth the Chloride (vinyl chloride). It also uses recyclable "Super Olefin Polymer" for the bumper covers, cowl louvre, pillar garnishes, rear door trim and upper door trimAll car reviewsAlfa Romeo Abarth Alpine Alpina Audi Aston Martin BMW Bentley Chevrolet Chery Citroen Chrysler Dodge Cupra Ferrari DS Ford Fiat FPV Foton GWM Great Wall Holden Haval HSV Honda Hyundai Hummer Isuzu Infiniti Jeep Jaguar Lamborghini Kia LDV Land Rover Lotus Lexus Maserati Mahindra McLaren Mazda Mercedes-Benz Mercedes-AMG Mini MG Nissan Mitsubishi Peugeot Opel Proton Porsche Renault Ram Rover Rolls-Royce Skoda Saab SsangYong Smart Suzuki Subaru Toyota Tesla Volvo Volkswagen |
