Volvo’s V60 Polestar is a hard-to-beat mix of safety, value, performance and quality
11 Feb 2015
VOLVO shook off its image as a brand that only made safe cars for sensible people long ago. A new marketing strategy and line-up of sporty and adventure-orientated vehicles helped changed perceptions of the ‘Volvo Driver’.
Now decades on this evolution has produced the current Volvo range and sitting at the top of the species are those cars developed by the independent high-performance tuning and racing company Polestar.
The S60 Polestar sedan launched in Australia in mid-2013 as a limited edition to test the waters with the performance car-loving locals before being sold in other countries. The V60 Polestar recently moved in to live with us for a week and we soon discovered its mighty strengths and the areas in which it could improve.
So, is it up to taking on Audi’s S4 Avant and other premium wagons?
