A minor facelift, the SX Cougar sported new-look headlights, revised bumpers, redesigned alloy wheels, fresh cabin trim and revised seats.
But sales remained flat it’s a wonder Ford persisted with the Cougar until early 2004.
What’s not surprising is that Ford hasn’t replaced it. Nor the original rear-drive Capri, nor its early ‘90s front-wheel drive convertible namesake, or the unfortunately named Probe that preceded the Cougar, ever achieved their intended sales targets.
