Leading the French maker’s exhibit is the all-new 207 hatch, which will be sold alongside the much smaller 206 hatch, Peugeot’s best-selling model ever, from around March 2007. No pricing was forthcoming from Peugeot, but Australian 207s will be powered by a 1.4, 1.6 and 1.6-litre turbo petrol engines co-developed with BMW, plus a 1.6 HDi turbo-diesel. Also direct from Paris is the 307 Hybride HDi Diesel, which is claimed to provide a 30 per cent improvement in fuel economy over a conventional vehicle, along with 25 per cent better economy than a petrol hybrid vehicle.
