New models - Hyundai - GetzGetz gets clickyHyundai hails the Getz Click special, as its controversial Santa Fe baby ad returns2 Aug 2007 HYUNDAI has launched a limited-edition "Click" version of its smallest model, the Getz. On sale from yesterday (August 1), it's distinguishable from the base by 14-inch alloy wheels and Click exterior badging, and inside adds blue cloth trim, chromed interior door-handles, a brushed alloy-look dashboard and a leather-wrapped steering wheel with remote audio controls. The Click is available on 1.4-litre S and 1.6-litre SX three-door Getz models only and adds $500 to the price, with metallic/mica paint costing a further $300 - before on-road costs. Standard on all Getz variants is air-conditioning with pollen filter, power windows/mirrors, front active “anti-whiplash” head restraints, remote central locking with alarm, a six-speaker stereo with MP3 and WMA-compatible CD player, full-size spare wheel and driver’s seat height adjustment. The 1.6-litre Getz adds an anti-lock braking system (ABS) and electronic brake-force distribution (EBD) as standard. The Getz Click is available in just three colours: Noble White, Midnight Grey and Sky Blue. Hyundai has also announced genuine accessories for the Getz Click, including a four-piece unpainted/unfitted bodykit ($1789), a rear spoiler ($356), foglights ($391), carpet mats ($99) and a chrome exhaust tip ($33). In other Hyundai news, the South Korean maker this week also announced the return of its controversial television commercial for the Santa Fe SUV, a 3.3-litre V6 version of which was also launched this week (see separate story). The TV ad, which was voluntarily removed earlier this year following advice from the Advertising Standard Board (ASB), continues with the same theme as the original, in which a computer-generated baby surfs while his similarly young girlfriend looks on from a Santa Fe on the beach. However, the driving sequence that features toddlers behind the wheel, which was the subject of debate on the grounds of road safety, has been replaced by the promotion of the new 3.3 V6 and CRDi turbo-diesel engine variants. The original ad, which was named by Richard Wilkins as a personal favourite and played in full by the Channel Nine Today show last week, can still be viewed on Hyundai's own website. "The Santa Fe baby advert received so much support earlier in the year with people sending in letters to newspaper editors and leaving messages on blogs commenting how heartwarming they found the ad," said Hyundai's general manager of marketing, Oliver Mann. "We’re confident the revised version of the ad will again be warmly received by viewers and further increase interest in the popular Santa Fe SUV."
