Changes inbound for two key Renault models

Renault updates Koleos, Megane E-Tech lines with warranty, specification changes

RENAULT Australia has made permanent the seven-year/unlimited-kilometre warranty offering on its Koleos SUV while at the same time announcing “several significant changes” to its Koleos and Megane E-Tech model lines.

 

Initially a promotional offer to mark the end of the financial year, the Megane E-Tech will now be offered from $54,990 plus on-road costs, a considerable saving of $10,000.

 

“Our job is to listen to the market and the needs of our customers to ensure we remain competitive,” said Renault Australia general manager Glen Sealey.

 

“The decision to continue the existing (offer) price for Megane E-Tech was influenced by the increasing demand we have seen across our network since its introduction.”

 

VFACTS data indicates Renault Australia has sold just 23 examples of the Megane across the 2024 calendar year, or 2748 units fewer than the segment leading MG 4.

 

The well-equipped Megane E-Tech EV60 is offered as standard with 20-inch alloy wheels, 9.0-inch instrumentation screen, 12.3-inch infotainment array, adaptive LED headlights with auto high beam, ambient cabin lighting, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, combination cloth and leatherette upholstery, keyless entry and start, wireless device charging, and an Arkamys premium sound system.

 

Standard safety technologies include adaptive cruise control, AEB (front and rear), blind spot detection and intervention, driver attention alert, front, side and rear parking sensors, lane keep assist, rear cross-traffic alert, rear-view camera, speed limiter, and traffic sign recognition.

 

The all-electric Megane E-Tech offers up to 454km driving range (on the WLTP cycle).

 

For the Koleos (from $37,500 - $48,500 + ORC), and in addition to the extension of the model’s seven-year warranty offering, we find available equipment highlights including an electric panoramic sunroof, keyless entry and ignition, heated and ventilated front seats, Nappa leather upholstery, and a powered tailgate.

 

The medium-segment SUV is also available with an Arkamys audio system, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, front and rear USB-C ports, dual-zone climate control and reclining rear seats.

 

These features join a strong standard safety package which includes AEB, blind-spot warning, front, side and rear parking sensors, lane departure warning, parking assistant, reversing camera, and tyre pressure monitor.

 

Further, Koleos is offered with five years’ roadside assistance and five years’ capped-price servicing.

 

“Recognising the preference for certainty among family-oriented buyers, the decision to extend the seven-year/unlimited-kilometre warranty on our volume model was also clear,” added Mr Sealey.

 

Renault has sold just 601 examples of the Koleos SUV to the end of June (2024), well behind segment leaders including the Toyota RAV4 (25,405), Mitsubishi Outlander (14,443), and Mazda CX-5 (11,920).

  • You acknowledge that we do not sell motor vehicles. Any sale of a new car to you by a dealer after we have passed on your Enquiry to that dealer as a lead, is a sale by that dealer not by us.
