A joint initiative of Future Climate Australia, RACV and EPA Victoria, Green Wheels ranks vehicles by their greenhouse gas emissions and presents readers with information regarding the environmental impact of the different engine technologies. Using data from the Australian federal government’s Green Vehicle Guide, the Green Wheels site aims to present the information in an easier-to-digest form, although GoAuto’s initial look last week showed that the site had confusing vehicle size classifications. Future Climate Australia executive director Henry O’Clery said the website presented the best-performing vehicles in several different classes to help consumers with green purchasing decisions. “Green Wheels is easy to use and in three simple steps shows users how to select a vehicle that compliments their lifestyle needs without excessive greenhouse impact,” Mr O’Clery said. “The top 25 per cent of lowest emission models in a particular class are shown once a search is completed, with especially well-performing vehicles clearly flagged.” Vist Green Wheels at: www.greenwheels.com.au |
