The campaign is part of a worldwide recall. The problem relay, which may short out, could cause the fuel pumps of the affected vehicles to stop working and the affected vehicle to stall and not restart. Cars covered by the recall include the 2005 Odyssey, Jazz and Accord, as well as the 2005 and 2006 Accord Euro. Honda Australia spokesman Mark Higgins said the company was sending out recall notices to all affected owners. He said fixing the relay was a quick and easy task. Left: Honda Jazz. “It really is a 30-second job,” Mr Higgins said. He said no reports of cars stalling due to a failed relay had been reported in Australia, but 17 cases had been recorded in Japan. Mr Higgins said the potential shorting out of the relay did not pose a fire danger. “There is no risk of fire. It would simply cause the fuel pump to stop,” he said. The recall will be carried out at no charge to the customer. Cars affected include 5390 Accord Euros, 5200 Jazz models, 180 Odysseys and 200 Accords. Read more:Beware PT windows |
