An extensive facelift saw a smoother new nose, electronic automatic four-wheel drive system, revised trim, improved brakes (thanks to bigger disc brakes) and better refinement sum up the Series II.
The RX made way for ST and gained alloy wheels, a CD player, side steps and driver’s side airbag.
Further refinements and higher equipment levels were introduced in late 2001 and again in late '02.
The value-added "Plus" pack (which included a sunroof) arrived in mid-'02.
