MERCEDES-BENZ lobbed an updated and facelifted version of its CL-Class coupe in November 2010 that brought the styling into line with Benz's other models.
Two new V8 engines replaced the older larger units with a 4.7-litre version for the regular CL and a 5.5-litre unit for the CL63 AMG.
The AMG V8 was the more fuel efficient of the two engines with economy of 10.0-litres per 100 kilometres and had a zero to 100km/h in just 4.5 seconds.
The CL500 could dash to zero to 100km/h in 4.9 seconds.
At the front the CL got new guards, bonnet, grille and oversized three-pointed star as well as curving headlights with new LED daytime running lights.
