Holden Colorado 7RG Colorado 71 Nov 2012 In late 2012 Holden returned to the old Jackaroo’s stomping ground with the Colorado 7 seven-seater SUV. Based on the Colorado ute, the wagon therefore employed a rugged steel-beam ladder-frame chassis including an independent double wishbone and coil sprung front end, but ditched the leaf springs in the rear for a five-link live axle. Two well-specified models were available at launch – LT and LTZ – using a 132kW/470Nm 2.8-litre DOHC 16V four-cylinder turbo-diesel with a six-speed automatic transmission. With an electronically actuated part-time transfer case, the rear-drive 2WD standard mode can be switched on the fly to 4WD-High or 4WD-Low settings, aided by a limited slip differential, Hill Descent and Hill Start Assist technology. Along with three-row seven-seater capability, the wagon accommodated up to 1280 litres of cargo, and could tow up to 3.0 tonnes. Read moreWhen it was new |
