Holden StatesmanVQ Statesman and Caprice1 Mar 1990 Based on the 2nd generation VN Commodore platform, the VQ series both resurrected and separated the Statesman and Caprice monikers. A longer body and wheelbase (2826mm), independent rear suspension, a revised dashboard and plusher interior differentiated it from its cheaper brethren. Both were fitted with a 165kW 5.0L V8 engine mated to a 4-speed automatic gearbox. The base model Statesman featured climate control air-con, cruise control, remote central locking, power mirrors and power windows, while the luxury Caprice added anti-lock brakes, alloy wheels, sports suspension, variable ratio power steering and velour and suede trim. |
