Toyota CelicaCelica ST184/185 (Mk5 Series II)1 Oct 1991 The big news was the revised 100kW/196Nm 2.2-litre 5S-FE engine, benefiting driveability. The four-speed auto transmission was improved. A redesigned front bumper and steering wheel, new colours and a CD player were the most obvious visual changes. An addition to the GT-Four model – called the Rallye – offered slightly more power (153kW), a wider spread of torque (down to 275Nm) and more standard features than the regular GT-Four. Around 150 Rallye units were imported. During ’93 the limited edition Celica WRC Trophy Edition added a host of extra features and subtly revised door, seat and alloy wheel trims. A total of 11,443 ST184/5 Celicas were imported here until 1994. |
