Super TestCar reviews - Audi - TT - S rangeAudi modelsResearch Audi OverviewAudi's TTS sharpens an already excellent sports package21 Oct 2015 WHEN we drove the third-generation Audi TT Quattro Coupe and Roadster earlier this year, we found it to be a brilliantly balanced blend of usable day-to-day comfort and enticing sportscar performance. The original TT range benefited greatly with the Quattro variant, which offered a far more exciting 165kW four-wheel drive version over the more conservative 132kW front driver. The current entry-level version already has 169kW, all-paw Quattro grip and a serious amount of fun to offer, so how can the new TTS improve on that? At just under $100,000, the TTS Coupe adds power, poise and pace, and points directly at a performance privy punter, while the Roadster adds look-at-me value with a electric rag-top for another $4000. Does the third-generation TT perfect the high-performance equation with the return of the TTS, or does its stiffened chassis and more highly-strung engine spoil the all-round ability of the more affordable variant?
