Park distance control gives an audible warning to make parking easier. The headlight master switch is located European-style on the dash. Cruise control is operated by a stalk on the left of the steering column. The sound system and trip computer can be controlled by buttons on the steering wheel. The X5 uses a regular, centre console-mounted handbrake lever, while headlight aim can be adjusted via an instrument panel control.
