A precision, ground-edge valve is used in the steering gear to minimise steering valve hydraulic noise during low-speed manoeuvres like parking. The valve is also designed to give the steering a crisp on-centre feel. The steering has 3.2 turns lock to lock and the turning circle is a sizeable 11.5m for the short-wheelbase, or 12.0m for the LWB.
