The influx of SUVs, and a whole bunch of other factors has killed the Australian large car and it’s a shame – for those who build it as well as anyone who appreciates a comfortable cabin, great road manners and cross-country road-trip prowess. The Commodore will be missed by those who remember the days of driving something that carried the family and its gear without being forced to steer something akin to a barge now the SUVs are everywhere, driven in many cases by families wanting to look like explorers. The market has spoken and the Australian-built Commodore will be relegated to the Holden’s history books, a sad departure for what is a capable, competent and composed sedan. We sample the impressive Calais V6 one last time. Click here for the full review...
