Super TestCar reviews - Honda - Insight - 3-dr hatchHonda modelsThe Car19 Jun 2001 By BRUCE NEWTON THE Insight two-seater liftback looks unorthodox, to say the least, but its shape was formed to provide as little wind resistance as possible. The engineers have achieved a drag coefficient of just 0.25Cd, making it one of the slipperiest cars in the world. The low, rounded nose, integrated (halogen) headlight assemblies, steeply raked windscreen, fender skirts over the "dinner plate" rear wheels are examples of where air turbulence is minimised. Even the rear track is 100mm narrower to promote smooth airflow. Large glass areas, including a glass panel in the rear hatch, aim to ensure good visibility in all directions. Did you know? The Insight's body is more than 40 per cent lighter than a Civic three-door - the closest Honda model in sizeAll car reviewsAlfa Romeo Abarth Alpine Alpina Audi Aston Martin BMW Bentley Chevrolet Chery Citroen Chrysler Dodge Cupra Ferrari DS Ford Fiat FPV Foton GWM Great Wall Holden Haval HSV Honda Hyundai Hummer Isuzu Infiniti Jeep Jaguar Lamborghini Kia LDV Land Rover Lotus Lexus Maserati Mahindra McLaren Mazda Mercedes-Benz Mercedes-AMG Mini MG Nissan Mitsubishi Peugeot Opel Proton Porsche Renault Ram Rover Rolls-Royce Skoda Saab SsangYong Smart Suzuki Subaru Toyota Tesla Volvo Volkswagen |
