INFINITI’S best hope of finding a strong foot hold in the Australian automotive market for now lies in this model – the Q50 – with the luxury mid-sized sedan establishing itself as the clear favourite since its introduction in 2014.
With 218 sold since the start of the year the Q50 has a long way to go to catch the segment leaders with which it competes, but the Japanese car-maker has faith in the model and has assigned it a new role along with a potent powertrain.
Not only does Infiniti plan to attract a larger audience to the Q50 range with the new pair of 3.0tt turbo V6 variants, but the performance credentials of the flagship will bolster the company’s association with high-performance vehicles.
Can a 298kW sports sedan build a stronger case for the newest luxury passenger brand to join the Australian market?
