Yet there is room for improvement. In 2.5 Sport form tested here, lacklustre engine performance and a lack of standard equipment also creep into the mix, making the entry level X-Type a reasonable first attempt rather than what we hoped would be an outstanding entrant in the competitive small-medium prestige sedan segment.
