Super TestCar reviews - Jeep - Cherokee - Limited 5-dr wagonJeep modelsDash23 May 2002 By BRUCE NEWTON A SINGLE heavily lidded pod contains four instrument dials, each with a chrome ring. The tachometer sits on the left, the speedo on the right and both are cream-backed with black numerals and red needle. The speedo rises in 20km/h numbered increments, while the tacho goes up by 1000rpm numbered increments. An odometer and speedometer sit in the base of the speedo. A smaller fuel gauge sits down on the left and an engine temperature gauge in the bottom right corner. Various warning lights are scattered around the pod, but the cruise control read-out can be obscured by the steering wheel depending on adjustment, and it can also be hard to read in direct sunlight. The steering wheel is adjustable for height only. The two stalks are reversed from usual Australian practice, with the indicator on the left and the windscreen wipers on the right.
