But let’s face it, SUVs are offering an alternative to hatchbacks and sedans and in every segment, which have donated their lower halves and nameplates to convertible models for decades, so the drop-top crossover was simply a matter of time. The world has been here before, with the Nissan Murano CrossCabriolet unveiled in 2010 but killed off in 2014 due to slow sales. It was before its time and not helped by aesthetically challenging looks. By comparison, the Evoque has swerved the ugly tree and is therefore the luxury SUV for those who like to see and be seen.
