Super TestCar reviews - Rover - 75 - Connoisseur sedanRover modelsOverviewRover based the beautiful 75 on the BMW E39 5 Series platform8 Apr 2002 ON the face of it, it's easy to dismiss Rover's born-again prestige medium sedan, the 75, as little more than a second-tier British anomaly in a market segment saturated by more established luxury offerings from Germany and Sweden. But on closer inspection, the BMW-engineered, British-designed Rover stacks up on many fronts, such as price, equipment, interior ambience, ride, noise suppression, refinement, dynamic potential and, dare we say it, build quality. Which probably explains why Australians have snapped up the distincively styled 75 sedan and its more recently released wagon variant in surprisingly high numbers during its first year of sales.
